Finally, the ROKOS v7 core edition is available and ready for a good and simple tutorial

Let's start by some scripts first

the resize script will resize your SDcard to get all the available space on it and not have ~700 MB left

./resize-sdcard.sh

Once it is done we go to the second script,

Since this is an advanced tutorial, I will make you play with the script.

you will need to use nano or vim (or whatever text editor you may think of)

sudo nano ok-sync-arm64.sh // sudo vim ok-sync-arm64.sh then i (i to be able to edit)

On the 8th line "OKCASHPATH" change the value to "/media/pi/yourUSBname"
should look like this: OKCASHPATH="/media/pi/yourUSBname"

Then add a line below the 8th (to make the 9th the 10th)
OKDEFAULT="$HOMEDIR/.okcash"

Now on the 37th line (below daemon=1">"$OKCASHPATH"/okcash.conf)
add these lines:

touch $OKDEFAULT/okcash.conf
echo datadir=$OKCASHPATH > $OKDEFAULT/okcash.conf

They create the okcash.conf file in the default directory and tells the wallet to load the files in
your USB instead of the default directory.

Once you're done:
(nano) hold ctrl and press X then yes then enter
(vim) press escape (esc) then hold shift and press Z twice

Once it's done, the script will copy and sync the blockchain to your USB

./ok-sync-arm64.sh

Now we have to wait for the script to finish

Once it's done open the wallet

Once it's launched, it will take some time for it to find some peers (might take up to 10 minutes) but that's only for the first time.

While it finds some peers, you have a look around and see your wallet address at the top right.

Finally, the ROKOS v7 core edition is available and ready for a good and simple tutorial

Let's start by some scripts first

Make sure you are located at "/home/pi"

the resize script will resize your SD card to get all the available space on it and not have ~700 MB left

Once it is done we go to the second script

This script will sync the blockchain on your SDcard

./ok-sync-arm64.sh

Once the blockchain is sync let's go to the default wallet directory

(if you don't have a USB skip the following steps and just launch the wallet)

cd /home/pi/.okcash

with the automount, your USB mounts at /media/pi/yourUSBname

now we have to add a line in okcash.conf so that when the wallet launches it will use your USB as the default directory.

open the file doing: sudo nano ok-sync-arm64.sh

Then at the end add:

datadir=/media/pi/yourUSBname

Then to get out, hold ctrl and press X then yes then <enter>

now we have to copy our files and folders from ./okcash to your USB location

sudo cp -Rf /home/pi/.okcash/* /media/pi/yourUSBname

It will take a few seconds since it has to copy all files and folders blockchain included

Once everything is finally copied redo a ls to see if other files were added to your USB and another ls in another Terminal in ~/.okcash
to compare the files and folders.

If there are files or folders missing in your USB, that means you misspelled your USB name.

If everything is good open the wallet

Once the wallet is launched, it will take some time for it to find some peers (might take up to 10 minutes) but that's only for the first time.

While it finds some peers, you have a look around and see your wallet address at the top right.

OKCash wallet on Ubuntu.

Let's start

First we need to go to okcash.co

Now just extract the files in another folder of your choice

For this example we'll just extract them to our desktop

Now that we have the files let's start it

There's a librarie missing let's get it

I will be back when it's finished

Now that the download is done let's try again

Let's copy these two lines in the okcash.conf that that we need to create.

Now let's go again

The wallet is not launching but we can see it is working (the daemon is working tho) now do ctrl+z

and start okcash

if you get this error just do ps -a to know the PID and then kill -9 PID_NUMBER

Now we have our wallet

Now keep your okcash script close and where you will be able to launch it easily if you ever have to close it.

This video will be about how to Fast-Sync your
wallet to the blockchain and save you a lot
of time.

Let's start!!

First we need to close our wallet

Make sure it's well closed and it doesn't
appear in the task tray

Nope it's not there so it is well closed.

Now we need to go get the blockchain:

It may take some times I will get back when
it's done!

Alright the download is almost done
Before doing the blockchain fast-sync make
sure to watch my video about how to backup
your wallet

Now we can unzip the zip file containing the
blockchain info

simply copy and paste "%APPDATA%\OKCash" (without the quotes)
into your file explorer, and you will be taken to the right place

Now we just transfer the newly downloaded files
into %APPDATA%\OKCash

Once this is done we can now open our wallet!

It may take some times since it's the first
time it loads the wallet

Now it's open

We can see we went from nothing to 98.5% in
about 5 minutes !

Today's video will be about how to backup your wallet properly

To do so you will need to go to the main OKCash folder and go
check where is the wallet.dat file

But first let's open our current wallet to have a look at the address

The main folder is located there ~/.okcash

From here we can open our wallet

This is our wallet address which contains our private keys and our Oks

Let's copy the wallet.dat file on our Desktop

Now that it is on the Desktop it's easier access, from here we will want to compress it

Now we have our zipped file we can delete the wallet.dat from the Desktop for a
more realistic example.

Let's delete the wallet from the main directory as well

Oh no! I lost all my Oks

But what happens if I just restart the wallet?

First let's delete the new wallet file

Now we have to copy it in the .okcash folder where the new one and old one were

This is going to be a short Tutorial about how to
backup your wallet (which is the "wallet.dat" file
in the OKCash folder)

For startup, we need to reach the folder lacation, the
default location is here:

%APPDATA%\OKCash

NOTE: AppData is an hidden folder by default so might not
appear if you try to look for it manually

Once you are in the folder, copy and paste "wallet.dat"
somehwere on your Desktop

Now you can close the folder

This is the current wallet address. If I was to delete
the "wallet.dat" file, I will not be able to open it

As you can see, by deleting the "wallet.dat" file, the
OKCash wallet made a new one since there was no wallet
already in the folder.

Now let's continue!!

You will want to zip your file with 7zip (I recommend it
because you can encrypt it and put a password on it0)

Make sure you encrypt it and put a password you will
remember to make sure that no one will be able to
steal your wallet and all your OKs!!!!

Alright now it has been ziped

Let's deleted the original file now

Now that we have a zip and a new wallet, we want to get
the old one back to have all our OKs.

Simple Unzip and put it back to the OKCash folder

Okay now let's see if it worked!?

Both addresses match!!! Now we know that the backup works

When you do it for the first time never delete your file
just in case you mess up somewhere. I will not be
responsible to any loose of wallets and OKs
